Big Cat Care Intern (May-Aug; Sept-Dec; Jan-Apr)

The internship program of In-Sync Exotics is an opportunity for individuals pursuing a degree and career in an animal related field to gain practical, hands-on learning experience working with big cats. It is a non-paying program. Housing is available upon request.

Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning enclosures, preparing food, feeding, enrichment, habitat construction/maintenance, general maintenance, leading tours and educational programs, observing animal training sessions, observing medical care, observing daily behavior and record keeping.

Must be 18 years or older.
Must have completed or is working towards a degree in an animal related field.
Must be of good health and physical endurance.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Must be willing to work 5-6 days a week, including one night (approx. 40 hrs/week) for a minimum of 12 weeks. May-Aug (start and end dates flexible)
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Part time jobs/classes are permitted as long as they do not interfere with your work at the sanctuary.
Must work well in a team environment.
Must be willing to listen and follow directions.
Must be responsible and willing to work hard.
Must love and respect animals.
